There’s no “one size fits all” schedule for a successful student. Your schedule needs to match your personality, your goals, and your daily activities.
For example, if you don’t feel like you are very productive in the morning, then don’t try to write your English paper at 8am.

Tips to create a productive daily routine for students
1. Wake up at the same time everyday
In college especially, it can be super tempting to lay in bed until 11 when your class doesn’t start until noon. You need to train your body and your mind to be awake every morning, so the mornings you do have to be productive, it will be easier to wake up and be alert. Waking up at the same time every morning will also help reinforce your circadian rhythm (your body’s biological clock), resulting in falling asleep easier at night!
2. Figure out the times when you are most productive
Everyone feels the most productive at different times of the day. Your friend might feel super productive right when they wake up, but you might feel more productive later at night. Figure out the times when you are most productive and schedule your tasks that will take the most “brain power” during these times.
3. Use a daily planner that works for you
In my mind, I always used to think of successful students as those girls who had the beautiful planner with the perfect handwriting, color coding there schedule with expensive gel pens.
You have no idea how many beautiful expensive planners I’ve bought, wrote a few things in, and never touched again. After a while, I realized that those planners just don’t work for me. I needed to find a planner system that worked, fit my personality, and went the way I organize things.
You wanna know what worked? Writing on a looseleaf piece of paper everyday the date, the goals I had for the day, and any important times to get things done. It’s not the prettiest system, but it works for me.

4. Schedule in times to study and times to take a break
There are a lot of productivity tips that show it’s important to take small breaks to increase your overall productivity on a set of tasks.
A great example of this is the Pomodoro technique, that says you set a timer and work on something for 25 minutes then take a 5 minute break. You repeat the process 4 times then take a longer break. Knowing you have a timer for 25 minutes helps you fully focus on the task and, as a result, get it done faster.

Best Morning Routine For Students
Mornings as a student can be rough. Especially if you’re not a morning person (like me).
A morning routine is extremely important though because it’s the start of your whole day! If you want to start off the day right, you need to take control of your morning. There are so many benefits to a good morning routine including increasing productivity, reduce stress levels, and it grounds you.
1. Write 2 things you are grateful for every morning
Expressing gratitude first thing in the morning will put you in a positive mindset and have a better outlook for your day.
2. Eat a healthy and nutritious breakfast
They aren’t kidding when they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day! A good breakfast gives your body the energy it needs to take on the day. You will be more productive and focused throughout the day when you have a good breakfast in the morning!
3. Open all the windows to let in the natural light
The sunlight will naturally help you wake up in the mornings. It’s like nature’s coffee (but doesn’t taste as good).
4. Find a moment to meditate/ground yourself
Meditating in the morning can help set the tone for your whole day. It doesn’t have to take a long time- even 5 minutes of meditation can have a huge benefit. Find a quiet place, sit on the floor, and focus on your breathing.
5. Say affirmations
Affirmations help guide your mindset in a positive direction, so you feel good about yourself and are ready to tackle the day ahead. They are positive statements you say to yourself every morning that can help boost your confidence and self worth!

6. Make/revise your daily planner

Evening Routine for Students
1. Check your to-do list and create a new one
Make sure you have completed everything you needed to do for the day, and start creating a to-do list for the next day. You don’t want to forget any last minute assignments hidden on your to-do list!
2. Tidy Up
Tidy up your papers, notebooks, desktop, and living area. Throw away that old starbucks drink and put your clothes in the hamper! You’ll feel so much better and ready to tackle the day when you wake up to a clean and organized space.
3. Pick out your outfit for the next day
It’s one less thing you have to worry about in the morning!
4. Practice self-care

Daily Routine for Study Days
When you’re a student, especially in college, your days or weeks leading up to a test are going to look a lot different than your normal daily routine.
You should focus on creating a daily schedule revolving around time blocks of 1-2 hours to study. You also need to give yourself time to take breaks to eat, go outside, and get some exercise. You will be able to focus on studying if you have smaller breaks in between large blocks of study time.
